Bishan Towers

Bishan Towers playground and fitness station draws inspiration from the Kallang River and the surrounding nature, creating a vibrant space where residents can gather, exercise and play. The installation extends the biodiversity of the adjacent river corridor into the neighbourhood, bringing open green spaces for all ages.

For children aged 2 to 5, the playground introduces a nautical theme through play structures modelled after traditional boats and sampans. These imaginative forms encourage children to create their own adventures while engaging with sensory play elements that support early learning and motor skill development. The design provides a welcoming environment where younger children can explore, interact and enjoy safe play experiences.

The playground for children aged 5 to 12 offers a more challenging play environment centred around a large Playworld structure inspired by mangrove trees. Climbing opportunities are further enhanced by Berliner's rope treehouse, which provides both elevated play and a shaded rest area for children. A unique feature of this playground is a rope-climbing structure with an undulating profile resembling a fishing net, encouraging children to test their balance, coordination, and confidence as they navigate its changing elevations.

Located beside the playgrounds are fitness stations equipped with equipment from Stilum and Saysu, allowing adults to stay active while keeping an eye on their children. This helps transform the Bishan Tower central courtyard into a truly multi-generational space. A second fitness station on the rooftop of the multi-storey car park features Stilum equipment with adjustable weights, enabling residents to perform exercises such as bench presses, squats and cardiovascular training. Combined with panoramic views of the Kallang River and Park Connector, these fitness facilities create an inviting setting for both recreation and wellness.
