Marina Bay: PlayHills

Marina Bay Playground, located beside the iconic Red Dot Design Museum, received a major makeover in 2026, introducing an exciting new playground equipment from Playworld. Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s stunning cityscape, the refreshed playground offers visitors a unique urban play experience while encouraging exploration and movement. Designed to blend elevated terrain-inspired play with sensory experiences, social interaction and inclusive community spaces, the playground creates an engaging destination for the community.

At the heart of the playground is PlayHills, an innovative play landscape that combines steel and turf to recreate the experience of playing on rolling hills. This PlayHills features two climbing routes, Tempo Trail and Ridge Trail, and is layered with activities both on and beneath the hills, inviting children to explore while learning new ways to play. Tempo Trail focuses on climbing and sensory engagement through features such as footholds, sensory drums, and an auditory sphere. Ridge Trail gives children the option to choose how they ascend, whether by gripping angular climbing holds or stepping across colourful tri-mound forms that help develop balance, coordination and strength.

Beneath the PlayHills sits a circular hammock that provides a resting spot where children can relax and socialise. The structure is also connected to an adjacent play tower through a sloped cargo net fitted with a hammock suspended midway, adding another layer of fun. This neighbouring structure features a twisted climber with a curved layout, increasing the difficulty of ascent. The highlight of the structure is the Mighty Descent slide, over 2 metres tall, with an extra-wide bedway that creates an exhilarating group-sliding experience for people of all ages.

This playground also includes the FlexRider Hangout, designed for users of different ages and abilities to gather and swing together, as well as a Cone Spinner, which allows children to climb and explore a cone-shaped rope play structure. Outdoor furniture from Outerspace complements the playground, including the Nola Swing Sofa and Citydesign tables with integrated seats. To support safe play, the playground is surfaced with Rosehill TPV rubber flooring, offering excellent impact absorption and a durable non-slip texture.

This installation was made possible through sponsorships from Outerspace, Playworld, RoseHill and supported by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). The Marina Bay playground creates a welcoming destination where recreation, movement and connection come together.
